When illusion becomes disenchanted-128 bit sega
Rumors promised us a complete compilation of Dreamcast. Reality offers us a rare and little care product that does justice to the 128-bit Sega.
No one can deny that we are surrounded by a halo of nostalgia that seems almost impossible to overcome. Gives both the developments and innovations, that which marked our past is seared so indelibly impressed upon our minds. Many users live with the spirit of Sega, which remain in the gaming world thanks to the company's blue hedgehog, who long for titles that will convey the same sensations as those enjoyed in the Sega machines either Master System, Game Gear, Mega Drive, Mega CD, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast ...
In general, Sega is known for being a company that always says listen to their users, even when the requests are so (seemingly) outlandish as Shenmue III (not a few times since the company have said they knew that people wanted and that took into account such requests, even if they are viable at the moment). And like other companies, Sega can play with the nostalgia of his audience to release compilations of their flagship games over the years. Deliveries have been several that have come from collections of Sonic and Mega Drive, whose final collection came to us recently (Ultimate Collection Sega Mega Drive), And it looks like Sega finally decided to move forward and focus on another of his beloved machines: Dreamcast. In the past E3, in June 2010, Mike Hayes said they were going to launch Dreamcast titles via download services. The first to arrive was Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi followed ... but both were ports little care left much to be desired and did little justice to the originals. It is true that many of these titles also received versions other platforms, but not others, and the full set would make this collection a real collector's item. One could argue disk space problems, as the occupying GDs Dreamcast games, but with the current compression measures that should not be an excuse. Clearly, if we go by what officials said Sega, this compilation has all the earmarks of being a "Volume 1", similar to what has been done in PC with Mega Drive Collection. It is not the best policy, and there are better ways to deliver classic Dreamcast as Sega's own has taught us in the past with his other platforms, but at least they should inform the user how many volumes contain the library and what games will appear in the download services / physical format.
Each has its own Dreamcast classic that yearns to revive, but if the first impression is disappointed to see his classic ignored, falls into a disappointment that the subsequent announcement of a new volume with more games will not get smooth.
