Modifications You Can Make to Your XBox Controller
As XBox becomes more popular, people look for new ways to gain advantages over their friends and competitors both in friendly at-home games and also over Xbox Live. The first thing people usually do is try to find glitches in the game that can be exploited, or the best hiding places from which to pick off the other players with a sniper rifle. But once all the players learn about all the secrets in the game, then the playing field becomes roughly level again.
The next step is to modify your XBox controller to give you an advantage over the other players. There are a few common types of XBox controller mods, the two most popular being:
Adding rapid fire - Remember the old Nintendo controllers that had "turbo" options for the A and B buttons? XBox controllers can be modified to include this feature so that you only have to hold down a button to get a stream of rapid fire instead of having to hit it over and over really quickly and getting a cramp in your thumb.
Adding better sticks - Some people don't like the default joysticks that come with the standard XBox controllers. They may find that their thumb slips off, or the stick isn't comfortable for whatever reason. In these cases, the sticks can be modified (or replaced) with sticks of a different design that is more advantageous to the player.
Of course, if you decide to modify your XBox controller you may not want to tell your friends or the people with whom you play online as they might get mad and think you are "cheating." Fortunately, there is no way to tell if someone is using a modded controller without asking them so your secret is probably going to be safe.
